Anthro Northwest 2017 set the world record for first year attendance at a convention of its kind, with 809 attendees. The membership raised $3,100 for Sarvey Wildlife and gave the local fandom a new chance for holding a convention in Seattle. Artists and attendees came from all over the world - Malaysia, Switzerland, many from Canada to get us off to a great start. Special guests included the Guest of Honor: Telephone, Uncle Kage, Fox Amoore, Pepper Coyote, DJ Recca, NFT, Dream Vision Creations, Crystumes, Kandorin Creations, Kenket, Balaa, SVC, Dandylions and many more.

Local businesses featured "Fursuit Friendly" decals on their doors and welcomed the costume performers into their shops. The community was amazing and set new standards for having a clean, all ages event.

During the event a CNN production called "This is Life with Lisa Ling" followed Leilia Spaniel, Telephone, Captain Boones, Ashaeda and Arctonyx around to document the positive transformational impact that furry has had in their lives. The show is scheduled to air November 18, 2018 at 10pm EST.
